Scope
Ludwig worked with WATG Landscape Team to deliver concept level presentations until the project went on hold. Key responsibilities included developing the planting palette, working with Edinburgh Botanical Gardens to plan the planting trials of suitable species endemic to the Arabian Peninsula, as well as the linked and constrained irrigation water budget which Ludwig developed and updated in accordance with the evolving design.
Project Bio
The whole site is designed as a memorial to the late Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father and first president of the UAE. WATG were commissioned to work with Foster and Partners, The British Museum and a suite of other consultants to design the long planned development on Saadiyat Island, including the Museum and its integrated landscape ‘Mound’ and the extensive Timeline Garden.
