Project Bio
AN ATKINS PROJECT.
Winner of the Royal Landscape Institute Award for Local Landscape Planning in 2008.
Sensitive and well-researched the Vision provides practical and innovative solutions to the aesthetic needs of the area and its heritage. Establishing universal accessibility as fundamental, it shows understanding of the competing demands upon Islington’s limited open space, applying a range of techniques to ensure safe, efficient movement for vehicles, pedestrians, public transport users, taxis, cleaner-fuel vehicles and private vehicles.
As a local resident Ludwig Tewksbury took a keen interest in Clerkenwell and when the tender was released he set out to win it. Six months of research, stakeholder negotiation and design was incorporated into a document which provides a robust argument for the proposed public realm improvements fully costed as part of the action plan
